Welcome

to St Hilda's

a community of love and acceptance .

We are an Anglican church in the inner-city surburb of North Perth, part of the Diocese of Perth.

We are a community of faith working out what it means to follow Jesus Christ
in this post-modern, post-Christian, 21st-century world

At St Hilda's we understand that people have full and busy lives.
We offer a place of calm and refreshment, where all are welcome,
and all may participate in ways that suit them best.

At St Hilda's we constantly challenge our faith and living
to strive to be faithful to the one who is faithful to us, Jesus Christ.

Our main worship times are on Sunday at 8.00am and 9.30am.
We hold a service in the style of Taize on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 6.30pm
and an Evensong service on the 4th Sunday of the month at 6.30pm.
We are located at 15 View Street North Perth. Map

Introducing our Rector

The Reverend Shane Hubner has been the rector of our parish since November 2004. Shane trained at St Francis's Theological College, Brisbane, and was ordained priest in December 1996. He served as a curate at Christ Church Anglican Parish, Bundaberg, Qld, 1996-1998, chaplain to St Mark's University College, and the University of Adelaide, 1999-2002, and as chaplain to the then Primate, the Most Reverend Dr Peter Carnley, in the Perth diocese,
2002-2004. Shane has been married to Janet since 1992. Shane has a keen interest in the emerging church and modern liturgy.

Words ascribed to St Hilda of Whitby, our patron saint:

Trade with the gifts God has given you.
Bend your minds to holy learning,
that you may escape the fretting moth of
littleness of mind that would wear out your souls.

Brace your wills to action
that they may not be the spoils of weak desires

Train your hearts and lips to song
which gives courage to the soul.
Being buffeted by trials, learn to laugh.
Being reproved, give thanks.
Having failed, determine to succeed.
